How to Give Your Agent Access to a Integration
Last updated: March 25, 2026
To give your agent access to a tool or integration, open your agent, click Add tools in the right-hand panel, and select the integration you want to connect. You must both authenticate the app and add it to the agent -- doing only one of these steps is not enough.
How to Add a Built-In Integration
Gumloop includes 100+ built-in MCP integrations (Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets, Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Linear, and more). Follow these steps to connect one to your agent.
Open your agent.
In the right-hand panel, find the Tools section.
Click + App.

Search for the integration you want (for example, Gmail).
Click Connect and authenticate with your account.

Click Save in the top-right corner.

The integration now appears in your agent's Tools list, and your agent can use it immediately.
What Types of Tools Can an Agent Use?
Tool type | How to add it | Notes |
Native integrations | Click + App | 100+ built-in apps (Gmail, Slack, Notion, etc.) |
Custom MCP servers | Click + App → find your server under the Custom tab | Connect your own MCP endpoint -- see setup guide |
Gumloop Workflows | Click + Workflow | Any workflow you've built becomes a callable tool |
Code Sandbox | Enabled by default | No setup needed -- every agent can run code out of the box |

How to Limit Which Actions an Integration Can Take
You can toggle off specific actions within any MCP integration. For example, you might allow Gmail to read and search emails but disable sending and deleting.
Open your agent.
In the Tools section of the right-hand panel, click the integration you want to configure.

Toggle off any actions you do not want the agent to use.

Click Save in the top-right corner.
Only the actions left toggled on will be available to the agent.
Tip: Consider toggling off destructive actions (sending, deleting, updating) while you're still testing your agent.
