How Do I Let Someone Else Edit My Agent?

Last updated: April 7, 2026

You can share any agent directly with another user — no team required. Open the agent, click Share, enter their email, choose Editor, and click Share. They'll have full edit access immediately.

How to Share an Agent

  1. Open the agent you want to share.

  2. Click the Share button in the top bar.

  3. Enter the other person's email address in the "Add people" field.

  4. Click the dropdown arrow on the Share button and select a role — Editor, Viewer, or Use Only.

  5. Click Share.

The person doesn't need to be on your team or in your organization — any Gumloop user can be added by email.

Available Roles for Agents

Role

What they can do

Editor

Chat, view and edit configuration (instructions, tools, skills, model), manage triggers, manage sharing

Viewer

Chat, view configuration — cannot edit. Can make a copy to their own space

Use Only

Chat with the agent only — cannot see any configuration, instructions, tools, or settings

Use Only is ideal for sharing an agent with end users who just need to interact with it. They see only the chat interface — no configuration details.

To change someone's role after sharing, open the Share dialog, click the role label next to their name, and select a different role or Remove.

Sharing With Your Whole Team or Organization

If you want broader access without adding people one by one, use General Access:

  1. Open the agent and click Share.

  2. In the General Access section at the bottom, select Team, Organization, or Anyone with link.

  3. Choose the role (Editor, Viewer, or Use Only) for that audience.

Sharing Tip: Copy the Setup Link

If your agent uses integrations (Gmail, Slack, Salesforce, etc.), the Share dialog includes a Copy setup link option at the bottom. This link walks the recipient through connecting their own credentials so they can use the agent immediately.

Making a Copy

Viewers can make an independent copy of your agent to their own space using the Make a Copy button in the top bar. The copy is fully independent — changes to one don't affect the other.

Alternative: Using a Team Workspace

You can also move an agent into a Team if your group collaborates on multiple resources in a shared workspace.

Direct sharing via the Share button is usually simpler. Use teams when you want a shared workspace for ongoing collaboration across many resources, or when you need shared team credentials.

Good to Know

  • You can share with anyone — they don't need to be in your organization or on your team.

  • You can also share a specific chat conversation without sharing the whole agent. Chat sessions can be shared with Viewer access only.

  • Anonymous users with a public link are capped at Viewer access, regardless of the General Access role setting. They must sign in to get elevated access.

  • If you need shared credentials (e.g., a team Salesforce login), the agent must live in a team. See How Do I Use Shared Team Credentials in My Agent.
